Upcoming Movie Reviews Section and FunkyFlick Rocks! ;)
Note: The guy from the photo is NOT ME! He’s a human, I’m a robot. ;) The photo is a creative commons one I found on Flickr via Compfight.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Funkyflick Company. All opinions are 100% mine.
It was only last week, I think, that I looked up Transformers 4 – Age of Extintion on IMDB.
Honestly, I wasn’t surprised to find out the movie received a mere 6.2 average score from a total of 84,468 user votes. The movie was awful and filled with clichés and stereotypes that bored the soul out of me, so I won’t even waste my time to write a full review of it. There are better movies out there that deserve a review, so you know before hand that I’m going to completely exclude Bay’s Transformers movies from my upcoming Movie Review section.
Those who know me well know why I don’t appreciate these movies and will certainly understand my decision.
Speaking of the new Movie Review section… it’s almost ready to launch. ;) Give it a week or two and you will find it under my Visitor page in the navigation menu. YAY! Email me to firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to be notified when the section opens. Unfortunately, I don’t have a newsletter yet, so for now this is the only way to keep up with the news. Sorry!
But on with the really cool movie stuff.
Starting this week, I search new movies to watch (at the cinema or via DVD rental) on FunkyFlick. I like this website because it doesn’t just give out snippets, images and reviews of the movies, but it builds a community around them. Yep, I mean an online community, like a forum or a social network! :D Sometimes I get more input on a certain movie by browsing the forums than reading just the recommendations. It feels incredibly warm, as if you were listening to a group of friends giving out movie recommendations.
For example, I discovered Maleficent, the new Disney movie about the evil character in The Sleeping Beauty, through FunkyFlick and my fiancee and I went and bought cinema tickets about 24 hours later. The day after, we woke up early and went straight to the DVD rental store to borrow Finding Nemo, which we hadn’t watched years ago and that we found in an interesting discussion on the FunkyFlick forums where people said the movie uses a lot of scuba diving techniques. Too cool!
Oh, I used to look up movie reviews and opinions via Facebook, too, but since I stopped quite early– most comments on that social network were quite silly or downright rude, so I was happy enough to delete my account. I don’t think I’ll ever try Facebook again in the future…
It’s getting late here in Rolamaton, so I’m going to wish you goodbye and I hope to read your comments in the next few days. I love your feedback.
And let me know if there are any movies you would really love to recommend to me! I’m all ears. ;)
Planning a layout change
July 1, 2009 ~ Filed Under: Blogging, Domain, Updates, Web Design ~ 267 words
Hello buddies. :) I’m really sorry about my very long hiatus. My duties of a Leader have been keeping me busy, but now I’m hoping to find more time to update this blog. ^^ I owe it to you and to my mom too, to whom the domain name is dedicated.
So, I’ve been thinking about changing the EileenSON layout, but I’m not sure yet. I’m trying to get deeper with web design and template choosing, especially after I read “WordPress layouts are the outer appearance of blogs”. The article states that, while it’s very easy to find a premated WordPress theme that will suit your blog, it’s in fact hard enough to choose the right WP layout that will make your visitors wanting to come back. Who does ever like a rough badly coded theme? ^^” But it’s true that also a layout with too many images can damage a blog: too many images (especially animated ones) are distracting and it would get harder for the reader to focuc on the entry content. So you see, choosing the right layout is not easy at all. ^^” And then, of course, there’s the color thing. As you can see, my blog is mostly green because my mom’s armor was green, and since the domain name is dedicated to her, I thought to sticking to the color green, even if I change design.
Well, I hope these tips above could help you think about layouts a bit more deeper too. :) It helped me. Oh yeah! And love you all! x3
Layout change and grades
October 19, 2008 ~ Filed Under: Daily Life, Domain, Grades, School ~ 193 words
Layout change! :D Hehe. Finally, I would say. I haven’t been much around this past week since school has been hitting it real hard. I’ve had tests nearly every day, and it’s a true relief that I have a couple of days to relax now. Yeah… just a couple of days, because from Tuesday I’ll have to resume studying for the tests of the rest of the week: Geometry, History, Literature, and a short Arts essay on Friday. Eeek T_T But I shall survive, I know that.
Excluding those subjects, my grades so far have been:
- Italian grammar and literature: 9
- Latin language and literature: 7
- English language and literature: 8
- French language and literature: 6
- Geography: 8
- Maths: 8
- P.E.: 7
I’m pretty much satisfied with them, expect that 6 (minimum positive grade) in French T_T But well, it’s a new language for me to learn, so it will just take time I guess. LOL.
Well, it’s late, so I wish you all a good night ;) Buh-Bye!
